Operation clothes Drive
The Clothing Drive & School Supplies Train was a great success. I really appreciate everyone who took the time to have a drive. I know it is a lot of work to get the items together and then to have to deliver them. Everyone on the council board truly appreciates your dedication to the children of Arlington.
We had some schools come up with really great ideas to promote their drives. Just to mention a few, Ousley had 111 students donate clothes and they gave away a $100.00 gift card to the Parks Mall at their 1st PTA meeting. Two students at Ditto had a lemonade stand to raise money for us. Larson gave away a prize to the class who donated the most school supplies.

They can post comments on our discussion boards and sign up to receive game scores on their cell phones or via e-mail. About 100 individual team pages will be packed with photos, stats, standings and game stories. Slide shows will bring the week's biggest games to life. Hard-core fans can visit our scoreboards to find game results from across the state. Blogs and other new features will be added throughout the season, many of them at the suggestion of the site's users.
Recycle Round-UP
Why recycle? By recycling, we reduce the solid waste costs for our district, and we also save trees, water, pollution and energy. By recycling, we help save the environment and ultimately our children's future. It makes sense to recycle, don't you think?
So what are we doing on campus? About 50% of the district already had paper recycling programs and an outdoor recycling bin – you may have seen the green and gold bins on campus. The grant has focused on getting the rest of the schools on board. At publication, only 4 Arlington campuses are still to receive an outdoor bin – 3 of which are on order. The grant has also provided indoor classroom bins, as well as a number of incentives and prizes for recycling competitions and events. The objective is to make recycling easy to do and fun for the kids.
Is the PTA involved? Yes, in fact they will make a big impact on the success of the program. Listed under Arlington Council of PTAs 2006-2007
Goals:
Support AISD’s recycling initiative by encouraging Local Units to participate and organize paper drives.
By participating, we would like to encourage parents to bring their recycled paper to school. Even if you recycle at home (and well done if you do!), your unwanted paper in your school’s outdoor bin will really help the school increase their weight and therefore the payments they get for the program.

Sousuke speculates on why Kaname has been gone so long.)
Sousuke: A traffic accident, sudden illness, stepping on a land mine, finding and trailing an old enemy, or kidnapping.
Ah, a land mi…
